At Augmenta, we create software for the construction industry that fully automates the design of buildings - completely transforming the industry and empowering architects, engineers, contractors and developers. We’re a global team, headquartered in Toronto, Canada with a team of brilliant, kind and collaborative scientists, engineers and designers. We are spread across Canada, the US, and Italy, making our workplace a remote-first and distributed environment.

We’ve already built and delivered incredible software, and now we need your help to develop our first product and deliver it to market.

The role

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Technical Writer with experience in Revit to support our product team in developing documentation for an early-stage product. The ideal candidate will quickly familiarize themselves with the Augmenta Construction Platform (ACP), enabling them to effectively identify relevant documentation topics and gaps. As we currently have no existing documentation, your ability to hit the ground running is essential. You will collaborate closely with the Documentation Manager to create user-facing articles and recommend the best platforms and methods for publishing this content.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology with real world impact, in a collaborative and inclusive work environment.

What you will do

  • Learn and Analyze: Gain a deep understanding of the Augmenta Construction Platform (ACP) and its features to accurately categorize and document information.
  • Gap Identification: Evaluate existing documentation to pinpoint gaps and suggest necessary improvements to enhance user understanding.
  • Content Creation: Write, edit, and format user-facing articles that are clear, engaging, and tailored to the needs of electrical construction design professionals.
  • Platform Recommendations: Research and propose platforms or methods for publishing articles to maximize user accessibility and engagement.
  • Collaboration: Work closely and collaboratively with the Documentation Manager to align documentation strategies and ensure consistency in voice and style.
  • User Feedback: Gather and incorporate user feedback to continuously improve documentation quality and relevance.

About you

  • 3+ years of experience as a technical writer, preferably in the tech or AI industry.
  • Experience with Revit and familiarity with its applications in electrical construction design.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to decipher complex information.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and formatting skills, with a focus on user experience.
  • Familiarity with documentation tools (e.g., MadCap Flare, Adobe FrameMaker, Confluence) and content management systems.
  • Proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and content creation
