The Augmenta Construction Platform (ACP) is a new generation of design tooling for the construction industry that completely automates the design and modelling of complex engineered systems inside buildings. Our first module within this platform automates the routing and modelling of electrical systems for electrical engineers and contractors. This product has just been released to the market, and the first buildings designed with it are now being constructed.

About the Role
Reporting to the VP of Finance & Operations, the Accounting / Finance Manager is a hands-on role responsible for managing day-to-day financial operations, full-cycle month-end consolidation, budget updates, and ensuring compliance with legal, tax, and payroll requirements for both Canadian and U.S. operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily accounting activities, including journal entries, credit card transactions, cash management, accounts receivable/payable, and financial reconciliations.
- Oversee Canadian and U.S. state tax reporting, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
- Maintain payroll and benefits records, ensuring timely and accurate processing through third-party providers.
- Serve as the primary contact for internal teams regarding invoicing, supplier reporting, bill payments, and cash receipts.
- Ensure adherence to accounting standards (ASPE), revenue recognition principles, and Canadian/U.S. tax laws.
- Assist the VP in monitoring departmental, project, and organizational budgets.
- Support fiscal year-end close activities, including preparation for external audits.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial operations through technology.
- Handle select administrative tasks such as data gathering, tax registrations, and compliance reporting.
- Take on additional duties as needed in a fast-growing technology business.
- We use financial technology systems including QuickBooks and Xero
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- CPA certification required.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in financial management and accounting.
- Experience with SaaS technology accounting is considered an asset
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, standards, and regulations, with the ability to analyze and refine financial processes.
- An in-depth knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP accounting standards and curiosity about their application in a SaaS context.
- Excellent time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain financial concepts clearly.
- Proficiency in Excel and Google Docs.
